Grey Ridge Promotion Converts Diners to Pinot Lovers

Thu, 24 Jan 2019

Grey Ridge Vineyard came to Cavalry to help launch their wine in the Auckland market—a project that started with getting the product into St Heliers’ popular French restaurant, La Fourchette. Sitting alongside their modern interpretations of classic French fare, La Fourchette’s extensive wine list now includes Grey Ridge’s 2015 Pinot Noir, 2015 Pinot Noir Reserve and 2016 Pinot Rosé.

To push the newly arrived wine, Cavalry ran a promotion offering diners the chance to win a special wine experience at Grey Ridge Vineyard in Alexandra. In partnership with House of Travel St Heliers and Ezi Car Rental, the prize included return flights for two from Auckland to Queenstown, two nights accommodation in Grey Ridge’s boutique vineyard suite, a two-day car rental, and exclusive vineyard tour and wine tasting with owners Paul and Sue Keast. Contestants entered the prize draw by dining at La Fourchette and purchasing a glass or bottle any of Grey Ridge’s wines.

Running throughout November and December, the promotion was a huge success, converting diners into Grey Ridge wine lovers and driving sales of the Pinot Rosé up to become the restaurant’s second best-selling wine. Grey Ridge also saw growth through their web sales as a result of the promotion. Craig Hopley of St Heliers House of Travel drew the winner from 126 entries, giving one lucky person and a friend an exquisite getaway in the heart of stunning Central Otago.
